The K-State Adult Education Curriculum
Kansas State University’s 33-credit online Master’s of Adult and Continuing Education curriculum focuses on empowering and developing the skills of those professions who work with adults. Whether you are currently working with adult basic education, international students, human resources, continuing education, or college teaching, this curriculum will assist you in developing and enhancing your skills.

There are 18 credit hours of required courses, and 15 credit hours of elective courses. Course descriptions are listed on the Courses page. The faculty are flexible and entrepreneurial and understand that each learner has a unique situation. Each course has reading and assignment options, so students can focus and customize their program to meet their needs. The curriculum is designed to assist students in applying information to their current or future careers.
For those students seeking to specialize, there are subject matter certificate programs available online at K-State. Please visit the K-State Division of Continuing Education Certificate Programs page to see the options available. If a student elects to pursue a certificate, those earned credit hours will apply as electives. If you are interested in pursuing a certificate program (or taking elective courses from a certificate program), please consult with your adult education advisor.
*For students completing the Academic Advising Graduate certificate program, EDCEP 829: Learning Principles will not be taken. The Academic Advising Certificate accepts the required course for the Adult Education Master's program EDACE 847: Adult Learning and Motivation.
Courses are delivered using a variety of media tools from message boards to synchronous chats with fellow students and instructors. Through the use of a variety of tools, interaction between students and faculty members is not sacrificed in the online environment.
