About the Adult Education Program
The graduate program in Adult and Continuing Education at K-State, located in the Department of Educational Leadership, has a long history of providing the only post- baccalaureate degree in adult and continuing education among the Kansas Regent's institutions. For more than twenty-five years, K-State's program has been the place to which many citizens of Kansas have turned for advanced preparation related to providing quality education programs for adults. The Adult and Continuing Education degree program is geared toward working professionals whose careers involve working with adults in educational and training situations.
Our graduate program and faculty have a long history of working with and supporting state and local adult education programs and initiatives, such as adult basic education and literacy programs. This online masters degree emphasizes the professional needs of all adult educators in their roles as leaders, teachers, managers, and program developers.
To complete the program, students must complete 33 credit hours and a cumulative portfolio due the semester during which they are completing their final coursework. Of these 33 credit hours, 18 are required and 15 are electives. The 15 elective hours may be earned through a complimentary online certificate program, where students are allowed to specialize in a subject matter. K-State has a unique opportunity for those who are interested in career specialization. Please visit the K-State Division of Continuing Education Certificate Programs page to see the options available.
